Players make pairs until someone is stuck with the Filthy Old Maid card. Pairs are made by combining any two cards and responding to one of the topics on the cards - the only catch is that the response has to begin with a specific letter. The player left with the Filthy Old Maid card at the end has to perform a special drinking punishment. Some cards have additional drinking penalties to ratchet up the bad behavior even more!
