TEACHES: Often children act out because they dont really understand their feelings/emotions or dont know how to express them. This flip-book teaches kids to identify different feelings and emotions, recognize their causes, and know how to react appropriately. Adults are encouraged to join in responding and demonstrating appropriate answers.
CONTENTS: On the left are emoji cards that show various feelings/emotions; emojis can express more than one emotion (i.e. sadness and disappointment), which are listed on the back of the cards. In the middle of the flipbook are cards that illustrate when that feeling or emotion may occur, and on the right are cards for what one can do when feeling that emotion. Children are encouraged to be able to flip the cards in a way to express the childs perception and emotional reaction to everyday events.
